Olmec Trails Culture and Legacy - May 2024

As the youngest artist selected for Olmec Trails: Culture and Legacy, I was proud to bring my voice and vision to this powerful celebration of heritage. I painted one of the 33 sculptural heads as a tribute to my Mexican-American identity and my hometown of Kansas City.

My design features sugar skull elements, honoring Día de los Muertos and the beauty of remembering our ancestors. A Lotería card adds a layer of cultural storytelling, while a dove on the side symbolizes peace — a hopeful message I wanted to share through my work.

This piece reflects the fusion of tradition and youth, culture and community. It’s a reminder that no matter your age, your story matters — and art can speak it loud and proud.
